The Five Treasuries of Mountains Section: Primarily records the geography of mountains and rivers, rituals for deity worship, and the objects used in ceremonies. It also describes the appearances and divine powers of the mountain deities.

The Classic of Seas (Hai Jing)

The Overseas Section: Largely documents foreign lands beyond the seas, detailing their extraordinary peoples and exotic objects. It also includes narratives of ancient myths, such as Kuafu Chasing the Sun and Xingtian Beheaded.

The Inner Seas Section: Focuses on marvelous phenomena and creatures within the seas, including scenes of the Kunlun Mountains, the form of the Jianmu (World Tree), the Ba Snake, the Thunder God, and more.

The Great Wilderness Section: Primarily records myths related to the supreme deities Di Jun and the Yellow Emperor, who were worshipped as the highest gods by ancient eastern and western tribal groups respectively.
